Project Proposal: "I CAN GROW" Campaign

1. Project Overview:

Empowering Youth in Sustainable Agriculture (EYoSA) proudly presents the "I CAN GROW" campaign, a creative and interactive initiative designed to engage agriculture enthusiasts in a hands-on experience of cultivation. The campaign encourages participants to transform a piece of fallow land into a productive garden by choosing a crop, nurturing it, and sharing their journey with the world. Through this project, EYoSA aims to promote sustainable agriculture practices, reconnect people with the land, and inspire others to participate in small-scale farming.

2. Objectives:

  • To encourage the utilization of fallow land for productive purposes, contributing to food security and sustainable agriculture.

  • To promote hands-on learning about agriculture and crop cultivation.

  • To build a community of like-minded agriculture enthusiasts who can share knowledge, experiences, and practices.

  • To raise awareness about the importance of nurturing the earth and the benefits of growing crops, even on a small scale.

3. How the Campaign Works:

Participants are required to:

  1. Select a piece of fallow land—this can be any size, from a small backyard plot to a larger piece of land.

  2. Choose one crop to cultivate and begin the process of planting.

  3. Take a photo of themselves with the fallow land before cultivation, ensuring both are visible in one frame.

  4. Nurture their crop, providing all necessary inputs such as water, fertilizers, pest control, and care, until the crop reaches a certain stage.

  5. Once the crop has grown to a noticeable stage, take another photo of themselves with the crop, again in a single frame.

  6. Create a collage of the two photos:

    • The first showing the participant with the fallow land.

    • The second showing them with the grown crop.

  7. Post the collage on Facebook with the tags #ICANGROW and #eyosanepal, along with a description of all the cultural practices they used during the cultivation process.

4. Criteria for Evaluation:

The participants' efforts will be evaluated based on:

  • Creativity and Initiative: The approach they take in preparing and nurturing the land.

  • Documentation and Consistency: The clarity and detail provided in their descriptions of cultural practices.

  • Impact: The visible transformation from fallow land to cultivated crop.

  • Engagement: The story they share and the inspiration they provide to others.

5. Prizes and Rewards:

There will be prizes for the most dedicated and inspiring participants. The winner(s) will be selected based on the evaluation criteria mentioned above. Prizes aim to encourage further engagement in sustainable agriculture and might include:

  • Gardening kits or agricultural tools.

  • Gift vouchers for agricultural supplies.

  • Certificates of recognition from EYoSA.

  • Agriculture Enthusiasts: Individuals with a passion for gardening, farming, or agriculture.

  • Students and Youth: Young people who want to learn more about growing crops and sustainable practices.
